08:40 · Before we start walking
We are not a bus company. We are the licensed Ephesian guides the big operators call when a group needs someone who actually knows this ground. Book us directly, and the middle layer simply disappears.
09:00 – 12:30 · The day, walked
What a private morning here actually feels like
08:47
In before the ship crowds
We start at the upper gate while the marble still holds the night’s cool. For about ninety minutes, Curetes Street belongs to you, the storks and the cleaners. By 10:30 it will not.

09:38
Reading the stone, not reciting it
At the Temple of Hadrian your guide stops talking dates and starts pointing at details: the Medusa over the arch, the fig-leaf frieze, the graffiti a bored Roman left behind. This is the part no audio guide does.

10:15
Yes, the famous toilets
Fifty marble seats, no partitions, and the best small talk in the Roman world. We’ll tell you how the flushing worked and why rich Ephesians sent their slaves ahead in winter. You’ll never forget it.

11:05
The site’s other residents
Ephesus has around two hundred resident cats, and they have opinions about where you should sit. Our guides know most of them by name. Priorities.

13:20
Then the table, which is the other half
Ten small plates you didn’t order. Bread rolled by hand and blistered on an iron griddle a metre away. Olive oil pressed one valley over. Tea in a tulip glass that means the meal is done and the talking isn’t. This is the hour people describe at home in January.

08:05 · Before the gate even opens
You will not queue for a ticket
Gezginol holds a travel-agency priority pass, so we buy your entrance tickets before you arrive and take you in through the fast lane entrance. In high summer that is twenty to forty minutes you spend inside the ancient city instead of standing outside it.
It applies to every tour we run, at every site we guide — Ephesus and the Terrace Houses, Meryem Ana Evi, and on our sister sites Istanbul and Cappadocia too.
And we add nothing to the ticket. The fast pass is ours to give; the entrance fee stays exactly what the Ministry of Culture and Tourism charges at the gate, to the lira. You are paying us for the queue you skip — never for the ticket itself.

16:00 · Where we actually live
The places, by the people of the places
Long, honest guides to the great sites and the three towns around them — written by locals, updated when things change, free forever.

Walking Ephesus
Eight stops from the upper gate down to the harbour, in the order you meet them.

Meryem Ana Evi
The Virgin Mary’s house on the hill — a spring, a chapel, a wall of tied wishes.

The long lunch
Twelve small plates, bread off the griddle, and the hour you’ll miss most.

Selçuk
The town at the gate — basilica, Seljuk mosque, storks on the aqueduct, Saturday market.

Şirince
Stone lanes, homemade fruit wine, and lunches that refuse to be hurried.

Kuşadası
Our home port — castle island, caravanserai, and the beaches locals actually use.

A small team from Kuşadası
Ephesus By Locals is run by Gezginol Tourism, a licensed travel agency based in Kuşadası, twenty minutes from the ruins. Every guide who works for us holds a Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism licence — the kokart — and lives within half an hour of the gate. Our first website went online in 2012; our senior guides have been walking this site far longer than that.
We are part of the 141 Journeys family of travel sites — one small company, one licence, many doors in.
